I chose to be trained in the Creighton Model due to my own experience of learning this method as an engaged woman. It was clear early on that there were several reproductive issues present, which, with the help of NaProTechnology (the medical, and sometimes surgical, component of the Creighton Model), my husband and I were able to address and improve my overall well-being and health. In addition, after experiencing several years of infertility and secondary infertility, we have been blessed with two little girls.
What I love about NFP and fertility appreciation is just that--fertility appreciation between myself and my husband. It has fostered much communication and tenderness between the two of us that I cannot ever imagine not practicing it! We both have a better understanding of the ebbs and flows of a natural cycle, and I am able to live a healthy lifestyle with no contraceptive interference of how my body was designed to work.
What I love about teaching women/couples is that at some point (usually within the first month), a light goes off for them and they are able to grasp the capability of their combined fertility--the potential and beauty that can manifest itself in a new human being! That knowledge is powerful and can truly bring a couple more intimately together.
